What are the advantages of using Tube-Lock®?

Build faster with Tube-Lock®. With just two tubes — no sleeve coupler needed — you can create a strong, safe scaffolding connection in seconds. The lightweight components and shorter tubes make assembly not only quicker, but also healthier for scaffolders, reducing strain and heavy lifting. Combining simplicity with strength, Tube-Lock® allows you to set up and dismantle structures far faster than traditional tubular scaffolding. And that’s only one of the many ways it saves you time. Check out all 10 advantages below.

1. You need fewer parts

Two tubes fitted with Tube-Lock® can be easily connected with a twist.

This means you only need the following parts:

  • A tube with Tube-Lock® fitting ♂ + ♀
  • A tube with Tube-Lock® fitting ♂ + ♀
    Number of parts required: 2

To connect two tubes using the traditional method (tube and coupler), you will need the following:

  • Tube
  • Tube
  • Joint coupler
  • Spigot pin
    Number of parts needed: 4

Therefore, using the Tube-Lock® system reduces the number of parts required by 50%.

2. Save time with Tube-Lock®

The average time it takes to connect Tube-Lock® tubes is 2 seconds. No tools or sleeve couplers are needed. Just insert, twist the tubes and they lock in place.

The average time it takes to connect two tubes using the traditional method is 35 seconds.

Plus, you need a ratchet wrench to tighten the bolts.

This means that two Tube-Lock® tubes can be connected about 15 times faster than traditional tubes.

3. Tube-Lock® produces a smooth tube connection

When using Tube-Lock®, you don’t need a sleeve coupler to connect the tubes. This creates a smooth tube along the entire length and width of the scaffolding. This allows you to place a right-angle coupler or a swivel coupler on or just above or below the connection joint.

It is not possible to place a right-angle or swivel coupler on the connection point with the traditional system.

Therefore, Tube-Lock® offers greater flexibility when building the scaffolding.

4. Reduced storage space and time

With the Tube-Lock® system, you can create any tube length you need using just two standard sizes: 2 m and 3 m. For example:

  • Tube of 2 m = 2 m
  • Tube of 3 m = 3 m
  • Tube of 4 m = 2 m + 2 m
  • Tube of 5 m = 3 m + 2 m
  • Tube of 6 m = 3 m + 3 m

Connecting tubes is effortless — it takes less than two seconds with Tube-Lock®.

Compare that to traditional scaffolding, where achieving the same lengths requires five different tubes, plus a joint coupler and spigot. Tube-Lock® makes assembly faster, simpler, and more efficient.

5. Logistical advantages

The Tube-Lock® system offers numerous logistical advantages:

  • Shorter tubes are easier to handle.
  • Easier handling means there is less risk of damage during transport.
  • Because the tubes are all the same length and you don’t need extra parts, you don’t waste any space on the truck.
  • Fewer individual parts also means less risk of loss or theft.
6. The ends of the tubes are sealed

The ends of the tubes are sealed with the Tube-Lock® fittings located on the inside of the tube.

This prevents sand, insulation fibres, building materials or other waste from accumulating in the tube.

7. Increased personal safety

The use of shorter parts (maximum 3 metres) significantly reduces the physical load on workers. On average, a 3-metre Tube-Lock® tube weighs 12 kg. The average 6-metre steel tube weighs 24 kg.

The limited lengths (2 m and 3 m) means that the tubes are easier to handle. This reduces the risk of damage or personal injury.

8. Visible locking indicator

When connecting the tubes by inserting them and twisting, you can visually check that the connection has been made correctly thanks to markings on the tube.

  • If it is possible to twist the lower mark over one of the upper marks, the tube is damaged.
  • If the lower mark is positioned between the two upper marks, this indicates that the tube is locked properly.
9. You can carry on using your existing tubes

We offer the possibility of converting your existing tubes to tubes with Tube-Lock® ends.

Before the Tube-Lock® ends are fitted, the tubes are visually inspected, straightened and cut to the desired length.

In addition, we can add your company colours to your tubes, so you can recognise them anywhere.

10. Technical advantages

The technical advantages of the Tube-Lock® system are impressive:

  • Tube-Lock® connections can withstand tensile force, making the system also suitable for suspended scaffolding.
  • What’s more, Tube-Lock® joints can handle direct vertical pressure.
