Internal quality control
We test raw materials and finished products daily in terms of size, strength, welding and zinc coating to ensure they meet the EN74 standard and to guarantee high quality.
In-house production
Over the years, we have refined and largely automated our production process, enabling us to manufacture our entire product range in-house. This gives us full control over quality, allows for regular testing, and lets us respond quickly to market demands.
DIBt membership
Van Thiel United is a member of the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt), the German inspection institute for building technology. DIBt plays a key role in the construction industry by providing technical approvals and assessments that ensure safety and innovation in construction.
As a recognised technical authority, DIBt supports the government at federal and state level and promotes a safe, healthy and sustainable construction environment.
Our DIBt membership confirms our commitment to compliance with national and European construction standards, and gives us access to valuable knowledge, technical expertise and regulatory support within the industry.
EN74-1 BS (British standard)
EN74-1 is a European standard that defines materials, design requirements, strength and stiffness values for scaffolding couplers, including testing and assessment methods.
Van Thiel United works in accordance with inspection level M: quality control takes place in our own lab and is independently verified, including by TU Karlsruhe (Germany).
In accordance with EN74-1, tests are conducted to verify, for example, slipping force, rotational moment, tensile force and failure force.
You can count on consistent quality: our products meet all the requirements of this strict standard and are continuously inspected by external bodies. Spot checks are carried out on the material, dimensions, corrosion protection, coupler resistance and internal test results at least twice a year.
ISO 9001:2015
ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard for quality management, which aims for the consistent delivery of quality products and services.
Our operations fully comply with this standard. We do not use ISO 9001 as a one-off certification, but as a basis for the continuous improvement of processes, customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.
NASC membership
The NASC (National Access & Scaffolding Confederation) is the leading national trade body for access and scaffolding in the UK.
As a full, non-contractual member, we are audited annually to demonstrate compliance with the NASC’s highest standards and codes of conduct. This audit ensures that members operate to the highest safety and quality standards.
