The viaduct holds significant historical value for North Yorkshire and is still actively used by freight and cargo trains on a daily basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Network Rail<\/strong> commissioned Crossway Scaffolding Group to design and erect a scaffold to allow safe access to the viaduct. The Saltburn Railway Viaduct measures over 200 metres in length and stands 40 metres high. The complete scaffold structure comprises approximately 1,000 tonnes of material and was assembled over the course of six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scaffold was constructed using <strong>Tube-Lock\u00ae tubes<\/strong> supplied by <strong>Van Thiel United<\/strong>. Tube-Lock\u00ae offers speed and ease of use \u2014 tubes can be securely connected with a simple twist, without the need for additional components. No staggered joints are required, and the Tube-Lock\u00ae connection is just as strong as a full-length tube. In fact, it is certified to handle tensile loads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scaffold base was constructed using equipment from <strong>RMD<\/strong>.
