Most commonly, they serve as standards or ledgers in conventional scaffolding setups. In these situations, they provide a modern alternative to traditional loose tubes that are typically joined using welded couplers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond standard applications, Tube-Lock\u00ae tubes can also be used in more specialised scenarios. In this new-build project in Nottingham, <strong>Attridge Scaffolding<\/strong> used Tube-Lock\u00ae tubes as edge protection. They installed 2-metre tubes as vertical posts and connected horizontal Tube-Lock\u00ae tubes to form a continuous guardrail. The verticals and horizontals of the edge protection system were secured using standard couplers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Attridge Scaffolding also used Tube-Lock\u00ae tubes to construct the external fa\u00e7ade scaffold. To complete the setup, they incorporated the <strong>5+3 system transoms<\/strong>. These components, combined with Tube-Lock\u00ae tubes, form the foundation of a scaffold system that merges the speed of modular scaffolding with the flexibility of traditional builds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One key advantage of system transoms is the inclusion of <strong>integrated extension arms<\/strong>. When fully extended, these allow for the placement of up to three scaffold boards, creating a larger working platform that is ideal for bricklaying. Once a lift has been completed, the extension arm can simply be retracted \u2014 allowing the scaffold to remain in place while work continues on the next level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">System transoms also make it easier to determine precise spacing between scaffold standards.
